How Disk Bottlenecks Affect TMG Performance

When putting together a TMG firewall or firewall array, when it comes to performance, you typically think of what processor to get, how much RAM to put into the machine, and how to configure the network so that you have the least congestion. Sure, you think about disks, but unless you’re using a lot of caching, you probably don’t give so much attention to the disk subsystems.

It turns out that maybe we should think more about disks when sizing a TMG firewall or TMG firewall array. It appears that the disk subsystem is a lot more important than we might have thought.
