I don’t remember if I shared this one with you guys before, but I thought I’d share it even if I did when this article first came out. Why? Because trying to request a certificate using Windows 2008 can really put you in a world of hurt if you expect the easy, breezy Windows 2003 certificate request experience.

So, how should you deal with certificate requests in Windows 2008 and Windows 2008 R2?

There is no one answer. There are a lot of answers though. Probably the best answer is provided by TMG firewall MVP Jason Jones in the blog post over at:

Give Jason’s method a try. Even if you’re repulsed by the command line, I think that this is something you should put in the toolkit. You’ll end up on the winning end if you do.
