Hi Steven,

I'll give that a try -- download the file and try to install it that way. Hopefully the worst that will happen is that I'll see another type of error message :)

You really have to wonder where the Exchange group's collective heads were at when they cobbled together their current UI. Microsoft is riddled with SD3+C and a big part of that is to de-obfuscate security configuration so as to minimize configuration error. So what do they do? The do an end-run around 20 years of Microsoft marketing on how GUI's reduce ramp up time and operator errors due to error prone command line configuration. There's a reason why so many PIXes are misconfigured! ;)

Thanks!

Hi Tom

I did the E2007 update on ISA2006 from the downloaded file and not from Microsoft Update and it all worked perfect first time. The update restarts the firewall service (hectic for a UI/management update) but that may be a cause for the Microsoft Update web site not working.

I'm with you on the Exchange 2007 command line stuff - If i wanted to use a lengthy command line admin interface to do what I USED to be able to do with a tick box I'd use Sendmail on Linux! Roll on SP1 where more is being added to the UI again (like public folder management).
