A number you have expressed your pain regarding your Nokia smart phone not being able to connect when published behind the ISA 2006 firewall. This has been going on for at least the last six months and I hadn’t a clue as to what the problem was.

However, yesterday Brandy posted to the Web boards regarding this issue:

“I`ve run ISA 2004 before and publish OWA, OMA and ActiveSync. I publish OWA with FBA and OMA/EAS with basic. Also two listener and two certificates.

In ISA 2006 you can publish all this features with only one listener. The new feature User-Agent Mapping check the device if it could run forms-based or not. If the device could not run FBA it will be downgraded to basic.

I notice that users with Nokia Mail for Exchange got problem after this upgrade.
Notice how microsoft has spelled Symbian OS?? See below.
I also notice this in ISA 2006:

I think that is the reason why Nokia could not sync anymore? How do I correct this to *Symbian OS* 3 True  (This should tell Nokia phone to use basic authentication.

Yep, a spelling error. Just like the little spelling error we had with ISA 2000 Content Groups (most of you are too young to remember that one

For the fix, head on over to Jim Harrison’s ISATools.org site and download the fix. Or, as according to Jim:

You can find “fix_symbian” under the ISA 2006 tools.
1. Extract fix_symbian.js to a folder on your ISA
2. Open a cmd-window
3. Move to the folder where you extracted the script.
4. Type cscript fix_symbian.js
