Reminder: You Must Disable FBA on the FE Exchange Server when FBA is Enabled on the ISA Firewall
When writing articles about configuring the ISA Firewall to publish the FE Exchange Server in a FE/BE Exchange configuration, I sometimes forget to mention that you must disable FBA on the FE Exchange Server itself. The only place that FBA is enabled is on the ISA Firewall or ISA Firewall Array (if you’re using ISA EE).

Uh Thomas
It would have been of great help if the above point about disabling FBA on the FE server had been more prominently mentioned….
I just wasted many hours fighting this problem, reinstalling certificates and going insane….only to spot this blog entry….
Just to prevent others in future from experiencing the same issue…maybe a quick note somewhere would be of use…
Off to bang my head against the wall….

Hi John,
Sorry about that.
That’s why I posted this blog entry. I’ll try to remember in future articles.
Thanks!
